Hello everyone ! =D Though this was rather due , but yeah . Don't mind uh !

So , our hard work and effort weren't really wasted eh ? Hahas . A gold for this Genting, like what Conductor Liu said . With this standard which let us clinched a gold with other schools like Anglican high and Nan Chiau , In Singapore's SYF we definitely wont get Gold . So , we got to work harder yeah?

The set piece , Journey . Seriously it's nice right ? Hahahas . To get the correct feeling for the song , we got to know how it was created and to depicts what. Hello CO peeps . Hahahas . Here are some of the recent updates k ?

5th of June , there is a concert at $12 , those who are interested , tell me soon okay ?

18th of June , our own member Jaslyn from Erhu Section is having a concert , it's free okay ? do support =D

July 2nd ? Culture night , we had to perform two piece of song =D So . JIAYOU ! hahahas. All need go perform wor . cannot act blur =O Must practice wor !

The new conductor , please show some respect =O it isn't easy to sit there while conducting while not helping the sections which are quite confused . It's quite due to our CO de standard not that high .... Change of Conductors is due to the training of different conductors and adapting to their new style . So , just bear with it .

And Dear SKCO . Please ! PLEASE ! Do not ever go and disturb other CCA's Blog or site. Reading up is fine , but DO NOT post OFFENSIVE things in their site can ? Please. Dun wan to see fights cause of these things can ? thanks =D

Let's try and work EXTRA hard can ? cause the standard with that performance was totally ... =x Can try and improve ? cause with that standard it is like ........to get a gold . And during performance try to look at the conductor . try memorize the thing.... it isn't that really hard . Although we make mistake... but we still can make lesser room for mistake can we ? 第一樂章：軍整肅，封禪遨遊幾時休？
描寫士兵們護衛皇帝外出巡行，跋出涉水，日復一日。音樂開始是暗弱朦朧的，就像天將破 曉時分遠處傳來的聲音：有士兵的腳步聲、武器盔甲和各種行軍用具的碰撞擊聲。不久，彈 撥樂器（中阮、大阮）奏出了軍隊行進的主題，音樂不斷加強，天色大亮，甲仗鮮明的軍隊 正浩浩蕩蕩地行進在原野上，軍隊主題完整地由嗩吶吹奏出來。接著，音樂一個轉折，由二 胡奏出一段略帶愁苦的旋律，這是士兵們的思鄉情緒；小堂鼓接著奏出一段鼓點，引出大鑼 大鼓的輝煌音樂，象徵皇帝的儀仗，這段音樂的前半段是威武雄壯的；後半段則是細吹細打 的音樂，象徵一群宮女侍侯皇帝。音樂幾經轉折發展，進入了一段緊張的氣氛中，終於鳴金 收兵。安營紮寨，一天的行軍結束了，暮色正美麗。

Hey little ones, please remember to bring Along your Learning Passport tomorrow. We will meet in the AVA at 5.15pm, after practice.

Just a little word about today's performance. I was pretty happy with your performance today, everything until you guys started to pack up.

I am disappointed at how you all choose to do only the bare minimum and leave others to struggle. As an orchestra, as a team, I think I have emphasized many times that it is important to help one another if we really want to become stronger.

Some of you seem to only care about clearing your own instruments. You guys forgot about those who needed more help because they have more than one instrument or heavier ones that need at least 2-3 persons to store and keep. At the very least, please remember your own chair. Who do you think should be responsible/obliged to keep your chair for you after the performance? I think it is wise to be accountable for what we have taken, what we have used and what we should return to their original place. Responsibility reflects well of you when you show it, even in little ways.

我真的很希望能够把你们带入剧场、音乐厅里，让你们成为“小明星”。但是你们这种自扫门前雪，不管他人瓦上霜的态度，真的叫我很失望。我是不是要聘请68位“女佣”让你们使唤，帮忙收拾你们的后尾呢？如果是这样，我们干脆以后就不要表演了，少用东西就可以少收一些。要不然，你们以后就都站着表演吧，也可以少收些东西。你说好不好呢？

What is a team, when you don't even know how to help one another? What is an orchestra, when you don't even listen out to/for one another?

In the end, you are still behaving like an individual.

This is not what I want for you to have when you graduate from SKCO. You must show that you are a different lot, not only in standard of playing music, but also in character. Because people might be moved by your music, but they will only be convinced by your behaviour.

You guys can do it, only as a team. So, do it as a team and leave no one alone, or we have no orchestra at all.

Hello all . =D Juehua here . As you all know , Chinese New Year is coming soon yea ? So , Jiayou in practicing all those songs can ? I know very sian uh ... hahas , cause i also feel the same way but, bobian.... we just die die have to play those songs in the Chinese new year celebration. Anyway , for those who are going for the 933 20th anniversary concert and the Graduation Concert , The location of the concert will be at Singapore Conference Hall . Where we once had our SYF there.
How to get there ? The MAP for the Conference Hall , we just take MRT and walk a bit. Okay?

For those who are going to the concert by the NTUCO(dizis and ruan), the MAP of the location, We will take MRT to Tanjong Pagar, exits from exit G and take a direct bus to the location. Please remember to bring your $12 by tmr for those going the NTU concert.

Sectionals will be held tomorrow, 2pm - 5pm. Percussion will begin at 3pm, ending at 6pm. Combined practice will be as usual, thursday, 2-5pm.

SeNioRs: You are most welcomed to join us. But please bear in mind that you have to be properly attired, ie: Half-U with proper footwear and NO DYED HAIR. You will be rejected entrance into school if you come with dyed hair. So just take note ya? Be good examples k? Big gor gor and jie jie le...长大了，说话要像大人，走路要像大人，动作要像大人…… 以身作则，对吧？And erm, we will not be responsible for your meals, because our catering fees do not include you guys, so you'll have to fix that hungry tummy of yours on your own k? Lastly, I regret to inform you that you will not be allowed to stay after 9pm as you are still under 18 and require consent forms from your parents should you want to stay over. Therefore, without any of the require letters, I can't let you stay. Remember, you've just completed your O and N levels, there's still a month before you are officially no longer a student of SKSS. Anytime before this, you are still one of us and I don't wish for any of you to get into trouble of any sort and jeopardise your future. Not worth it right？

If you are interested to join us for workshops/practice/teambonding, please feel free! We would love to have you come back and impact the young ones...:)

Regarding Attire.

Hmmm regarding the Holiday practice , in case u forget to bring the schedule the changes made are the date where 24 nov are change to 25 nov , a wednesday instead of a tuesday , venue is still the same , class room , 2pm to 5pm .

1 point i wan say about is erm . when the conductor say stops , pls really stop . dun gu yi play on . cause quite irritating to the conductor then waste time for practice . then try to talk less . cause i noe sometimes must ask which bar :X try not to talk ba. :X

Teacher I/C for Sec 1 and Percussion will be Ms Tay Pei Ching and Mdm Ma Li
Teacher I/C for Sec 2 and String(1 and 2) will be Ms Jane Han
Teacher I/C for Sec 3 and Wind will be Mr Su Zhangkai
Teacher I/C for Sec 4 and Plucking will be Ms Meng Xian Yuan and Miss Megan Ling

Absentee / Attendance Matters

CO members must attend [u]ALL[/u] practice sessions and designated meetings or activities held by SKCO.All absentees [u]MUST NOTIFY[u] Sectional teachers I/C before start of each pratice session or designated activity.
Absentees are to provide MCs or valid Letter of Absenence to Sectional Teachers I/C the very next day they return to school. Valid reason includes :

Weddings
Funeral
Religious Ceremonies
Medical Check Ups
Competition
Seminars

3. Should the letterof absence be withour necessary supporting documents , call will be made to parents for confirmation.
4.Should a student absent twice in a row without a VRs , he/she will be subjected to
disciplinary measures. (withdrawal for trips,performance,Competition and CCA points )

If a instrument is damaged and requires a change of parts ,

1st time offence will be issued with a verbal warning.
2nd time offence will require the student damaging the instrument to pay HALF the repair cost.
3rd time offence will require the student to pay the FULL repair cost .
When the instruments is not from the school , the school will NOT help to pay any repair cost .

Holiday Practice

There will be practice on :
27 and 29 Oct 2pm to 5pm
03,05,10,12,17,18,19,24 and 26 Nov 2-5pm(except for 12 nov which is 3-6 pm)
1,3,8,10,29 and 31 Dec 2-5pm

Heritage Room for Cello/Double Bass

Thanks JueHua! It's so good to see you guys taking the effort to update one another. Ok, here's the tentative date for the camp.

Date: Nov 24th-26th
Day: Tues- Thurs

Do remember that we still have practice next week, Tues, 3-6pm. Bring all instruments please.

I do understand that some of you are in the midst of preparing for your exam and the stress is building up. I do not blame you guys for feeling so tired and drained, but I really do hope that in the midst of all these training and studying, you'll still find joy and fun. I'm very touched, by the hard work and dedication you guys have put in for SKCO. As the days go by, I really do see pieces of gold coming together to form a medal. It should be ready by 2011 ! :)

And here's a tale I've got to tell....

I remember last thursday, after practice, I made a debrief, reminding you guys to practise on your own at home whenever you can, right? I'm not quite sure how many of you do really practise very often at home(for those of you who can), but there IS one of you who have touched me very deeply.

ONE of you live very very very very near me. Because on thursday night, I heard OUR two songs being practiced! No doubt, 男儿当自强 & 花鼓调!!!!!! At first, I couldn't quite make out the tune....because it's being played in parts, as we all know. Then it dawned on me that it was in tune to the melody!

I think I know who this person is. HAHAHAH. *evil laugh* But I'm still not quite sure. If you were practising on Thursday night...between 8-11pm...it could very well be YOU staying soooooooo very near me. haha...

And all I want to say is......

Thank you for loving your instrument, for loving SKCO, for giving me a chance. :)

And for the rest of you, I know you guys can do it. You've shown how much potential and capability you've got. There's simply no reason for all of us teachers not to believe in you all. So, whatever goals you have for SKCO, go for it. As long as you think you'll be able to attain that goal, the teachers will be here to support you guys!

And Sunday approaches....ARGH! then comes MONDAY@@..........

bUT HEY! if there's no Monday, there wouldnt be TUESDAY with CO right? hehehhe:P

Hello :D CO camp was originally on the 17,18,19 of November , but then it was pushed back 1 week as 17-19 November was still not yet holiday . ( don't ask me why)

Here also to update a bit of what teacher had said :D
If you are late in full orchestra practice , please 鞠躬 1st , follow up by going into the music room and take your instrument then sit down and join the practice
After full orchestra training , the packing order will be the Cello Bass or String 2(which 1 you like to hear) 1st then others i don't know .

And yes, the logo I've been mentioning. I do hope your batch of people can create something to call your own, something which distinguishes us from other COs. I mean, having “华乐团”on every other T-shirt in S'pore can't exactly set you apart. But if we have our own logo, it'll be really different. When I send out letters or invitations, the tendency for others to take us seriously will increase, because WE MEAN BUSINESS. Let's build an identity, beginning with this logo. Therefore, as mentioned, it will be a Sectional Competition. All sections are to come up with a design(or more than 1, that will be GREAAAAAAAAT!) and submit them to be after your exams. I will allow you guys to vote and decide democratically which to use. And the very first letter I'll be sending to your parents(not to complain against you, but just to say hi) will include this logo. :)

1st, every CCA days, everyone must bring learning passport.

2nd, whenever receiving a message from your senior and asked u to forward, please forward to the person your suppose to. DON'T EVER EDIT the message...
Eg. Message received : Meet at haven tomorrow at 3pm.
Message sent : Meet at CO Room tomorrow at 3pm.
The last person also have to send back the message to their respective Sectional Leader to let them check on the message.

3rd, if you cannot come for one of the day, either Tuesday or Thursday, please report to Miss Ling Mu'En...

We have change teachers - in - charge , instructors and conductors .
Hence , we must work hard to achieve the result MOST of us wanna get. Don't wanna use the word ALL as i know confirm got some joker trying to aim C.O.P or weird stuffs :X Try not to skip so much practice as it would make our CO practice less fun as if one guy/girl doesn't turn up for practice , then one of the teachers , instructor or conductor get angry and SHOUT , SCREAM or whatever that may be , none of us will get a good time eh ? Then everyone will be in a VERY sian or bad mood right ?

During practice try to be quiet ? If make too much noise also not good . For example if make too much noise during practice then the conductor wait wait wait then add back the time then everyone will start to be unhappy le right ? Or ... After practice we kana stay back then teachers make us stay back and talk, all of us SIAN again right ?
